  4. Make a clear go/no-go decision

  5. Document the decision and rationale in Swift CNS

Jobs-to-Be-Done

  • When: I have analyzed experiment results and created Learning Cards in Swift CNS

  • I want: To synthesize insights and make a decision using Swift CNS Insights

  • So that: I can proceed with building or pivot to a better direction

Inputs

  • Learning Cards from 05 — Extract Key Learnings in Swift CNS

  • Hypothesis status for all tested hypotheses

  • Experiment results and analysis

  • Problem statement and value proposition

Activities

1. Access Insights in Swift CNS

Navigate to Insights:

  1. Go to your project in Swift CNS

  2. Click the "Insights" tab

  3. Or go to global Insights page (from main nav)

What You'll See:

  • Aggregated insights from all Learning Cards

  • Insights organized by topic

  • Status: validated or invalidated

  • Tags and categories

  • Links to source Learning Cards

2. Review Aggregated Insights

In Swift CNS Insights:

  • All Insights: View all insights across all Learning Cards

  • Filter by Status: Validated, Invalidated, Inconclusive

  • Filter by Tags: Filter by topic or category

  • Sort: Most recent, most relevant, etc.

Insights Summary:

  • Total number of insights

  • Number of validated cards

  • Number of unique tags

  • Number of Learning Cards

What to Look For:

  • Patterns across multiple insights

  • Contradictions or confirmations

  • Strong signals vs. weak signals

  • Surprises or unexpected findings

3. Synthesize All Learnings

Combine Learnings from All Learning Cards:

Questions to Answer:

  • What validated?

  • What invalidated?

  • What's still unknown?

  • What patterns emerged?

  • What surprised you?

Example Synthesis:

Validated:
- Technical approach is viable (AI can generate useful insights)
- Market interest exists (23% conversion, below target but present)

Invalidated:
- Value proposition needs refinement (users hesitant about commitment)
- Pricing model unclear (no clear willingness to pay signal)

Unknown:
- Long-term usage patterns
- Competitive position

Patterns:
- Interest exists but commitment is low
- Technical feasibility is high
- Need to clarify ongoing value

Surprises:
- Users liked AI insights more than expected
- Commitment was lower than expected

4. Assess Overall Risk and Opportunity

Risk Assessment:

  • High Risk: Critical assumptions invalidated

  • Medium Risk: Some assumptions unclear

  • Low Risk: Most assumptions validated

Opportunity Assessment:

  • High Opportunity: Large market, strong need

  • Medium Opportunity: Moderate market, clear need

  • Low Opportunity: Small market, unclear need

In Swift CNS:

  • Review insights to assess risk

  • Consider validated vs. invalidated assumptions

  • Evaluate market opportunity

  • Consider competitive position

5. Make the Decision

Decision Framework:

  • Are critical assumptions validated?

  • Is the risk acceptable?

  • Is the opportunity sufficient?

  • Do we have a clear path forward?

Decision Options:

  • Go: Proceed to build MVP

  • No-Go: Don't build, pivot or stop

  • Pivot: Change direction based on learnings

  • More Learning: Need more experiments

Document Decision in Swift CNS:

  • Use chat conversation to document decision

  • Create a Learning Card for the decision

  • Or document in project notes

  • Include rationale and next steps

6. Plan Next Steps

Based on Your Decision:

If Go:

  • Document decision in Swift CNS

  • Proceed to Build the MVP

  • Use validated learnings to inform build

  • Address any remaining risks

If No-Go:

  • Document decision in Swift CNS

  • Document learnings for future reference

  • Consider other ideas or problems

If Pivot:

  • Document decision in Swift CNS

  • Refine value proposition or approach

  • Test new direction (start new chat)

  • Iterate based on learnings

If More Learning:

  • Document decision in Swift CNS

  • Design additional experiments

  • Test remaining assumptions

  • Revisit decision after more data

Apply It Now

Task: Synthesize insights and make your decision using Swift CNS

  1. Navigate to Insights in Swift CNS

  2. Review aggregated insights from all Learning Cards

  3. Synthesize all learnings (what validated, what invalidated, patterns)

  4. Assess overall risk and opportunity

  5. Apply decision framework

  6. Make a clear decision (Go/No-Go/Pivot/More Learning)

  7. Document decision and rationale in Swift CNS

  8. Plan next steps based on decision

Artifact: A decision documented in Swift CNS with:

  • Decision (Go/No-Go/Pivot/More Learning)

  • Rationale

  • Synthesized learnings

  • Risk and opportunity assessment

  • Next steps

Artifacts

You'll create in Swift CNS:

  • Decision documented (in chat or Learning Card)

  • Synthesis of learnings

  • Risk and opportunity assessment

  • Next steps plan

Worked Example

Situation: Synthesizing insights for retrospective tool in Swift CNS

Steps in Swift CNS:

  1. Navigate to Insights tab in project

  2. Review Aggregated Insights:

    • 8 insights from 2 Learning Cards

    • 2 validated cards

    • 16 unique tags

  3. Synthesize Learnings:

    Validated:
    - AI approach is technically viable
    - Market interest exists (23% conversion, below target but present)

    Invalidated:
    - Value proposition needs refinement (users hesitant about commitment)
    - Pricing model unclear

    Patterns:
    - Interest exists but commitment is low
    - Technical feasibility is high
    - Need to clarify ongoing value
  4. Assess Risk and Opportunity:

    • Risk: Medium (technical validated, market needs refinement)

    • Opportunity: Medium (market exists but needs refinement)

  5. Make Decision:

    • Decision: Pivot - Refine value proposition, test again

    • Rationale: Technical approach is viable and interest exists, but value proposition needs refinement before building

  6. Document Decision in Swift CNS chat or Learning Card

  7. Plan Next Steps:

    • Refine value proposition

    • Test refined value proposition

    • Revisit decision after additional tests

Result in Swift CNS:

  • Decision documented

  • Rationale clear

  • Next steps planned

  • Ready to iterate
